The High Coast of Sweden is a large area with a selection that always appeal to somebody. The nature, with its variation from woods and river valleys to the dramatic coastline, offers experiences and meetings with locals that you are late to forget.
Härnösand has a rich cultural life and a historical town centre, and is located on an island in the southern part of the High Coast’s archipelago. With its seaside location, unique shops, events, sights and beautiful scenery, Härnösand is the perfect place to explore the High Coast World Heritage Site from, as well as to get to all the other attractions in the region.
Ulvön is a beautiful place between two worlds with a picturesque fishing village, untouched nature and memorable dining experiences. This is where the steep cliffs diving straight into the sea will leave you breathless. Take a boat tour to Ulvön from Köpmanholmen, Ullånger or Docksta. Find timetables here. The villages, lakes and mountains in the High Coast have constantly inspired new artists. The so-called artist’s belt stretches along the undulating roads in Nordingrå all the way out to sea and Högbonden Lighthouse. It then goes back inland again to Ullångersfjärden inlet, Rotsidan’s smooth shoreline and the village life at Norrfällsviken fishing settlement. Mannaminne is where the past and present meet in gatherings, exhibitions and artworks.
