Beschreibung
Take the cable car to the top of Skuleberget and experience breathtaking views of the High Coast World Heritage Site together with local flavors.

Prepare for a day filled with sweeping views and powerful nature experiences. The High Coast holds the world record for land uplift. Here you will find the world’s highest coastline at 286 meters above sea level. This land uplift has shaped a unique archipelago landscape with bays, lagoons, and inland lakes.

Upon arrival at Skuleberget, we take the cable car to the summit. Here you will enjoy spectacular views over the World Heritage landscape along with a delicious lunch featuring local delicacies, such as homemade potato salad made with High Coast potatoes and slow cooked pork shoulder from Västernorrland. A vegetarian option is available but must be pre booked.

With its dramatic silhouette, Skuleberget is one of the most iconic landmarks of the High Coast and a natural part of the World Heritage area. The region was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. What were once small islands have, through land uplift, become tall forest covered mountains. During this excursion you will learn more about the land uplift and how it has shaped the landscapes of the High Coast.

We recommend sturdy shoes as well as windproof and weather appropriate clothing so the cable car ride and time spent at the summit remain comfortable regardless of the weather.

If there is a risk of thunderstorms or extremely strong winds, the cable car cannot operate. In that case we will experience Skuleberget from the base and instead enjoy lunch at Friluftsbyn, where you will also hear the story of one of Sweden’s fastest growing outdoor destinations. Afterward we will visit Utsikt Höga Kusten, another spectacular viewpoint that is reached entirely by bus. On a clear day you may see both the High Coast Bridge to the south and Skuleberget to the north.

On the way back to the harbor we will stop at the 101 year old Mjälloms Tunnbröd bakery. Here you will have the opportunity to buy different varieties of tunnbröd, traditional Swedish flatbread, as well as other local delicacies to bring home.
