Within the UNESCO World Heritage area lies Rotsidan, offering a spectacular setting with the sea crashing against smooth, flat diabase rocks. Rotsidan stretches approximately 4 km along the coast, framed by wind-shaped pine trees and dwarf spruce.
The walk here is mostly flat, and accessible paths allow visitors with walkers to reach the area.
Our knowledgeable guide explains the unique land uplift and the World Heritage designation. We enjoy a pleasant coastal walk crowned with Swedish fika around an open fire.
On the return journey, we make a short stop in one of the nearby fishing villages, either Bönhamn or Barsta.
