On June 1, 1675, 71 people were executed. 65 women (every 5th woman in Torsåkers parish), 2 men and 4 boys.

Beschreibung
From Torsåkers church is a path, Häxstigen, to Häxberget (Bålberget), where the convicted witches were beheaded and burned at the stake. Häxstigen is 7.5 km long. For those who prefer a shorter hike so it is possible to park the car at the foot of the mountain and then walk about 400 meters. Up on the mountain is a memorial stone.
