Mjältön

Well worth a visit with a fantastic natural harbour. If you sail to Mjältön we hope that you will stay to see the sunset. The red Nordingrå Granite cliffs are set alight by the sun’s last rays of the day and it will be a sight you will never forget.

Sweden’s highest island

Out to sea, east of Skuleberget, is Sweden’s highest island that juts 236 metres straight up out of the waves. A large part of the island is a nature reserve and hiking to the top is a fantastic experience. Take the time to enjoy the breath-taking views over the world heritage site before exploring further.

On Mjältön

Baggviken, a popular natural harbour with jetties, barbeque areas and a sauna, is found on the eastern side of the island. Bordering the nature reserve is the summer grazing farm Sundsbodarna. The island’s flora and fauna are unique due to the fact that the entire island was once under the sea. Clear evidence of this can be seen in the cobble field, the smooth, barren top and that large cave Mjältögrottan that is located near the highest point of the island.
