The High Coast has a number of great ski slopes, some of which usually manage to open early each season. The first is usually Solbergsbacken. Solbergsbacken is the perfect winter paradise for everyone with six slopes, a children’s slope, night skiing, spa with hot tubs, fully-licenced restaurant, sauna, barbeque areas, heated lunch rooms and accommodation to rent.

Another popular ski resort is Hallstabacken in Sollefteå. Hallstabacken has six slopes with four lifts. Four of the slopes are floodlit for night skiing. You will find slopes here for beginners and advanced skiers. The longest slope is 1.5 kilometres with a vertical drop of 305 metres. There is also a children’s slope at the base that is perfect for kids to learn to ski on.

There are two ski slopes along the E4 motorway that runs through the entire High Coast. Bjästabacken is about 20 minutes south of Örnsköldsvik and Åsbacken is located on Åsberget in the township of Örnsköldsvik.
