Description

Day 1
Sollefteå Camping-Sandslån 39 km

The trip starts at the Sollefteå camping ground which is in the middle of the town on the river. You can rent kayaks here. The first day is easy, with pleasant paddling down the river and plenty of help from the current. Spend the night at Sandslån Camping and Hostel.

Day 2
Sandslån-Åbordsön 29 km

From here, paddle quickly over to Marieberg where you can visit the famous distillery at Box Whisky. Stay on the northern side of the river when it starts widening out. You will pass Svanö and Sandöbron and come down to the famous bridge Högakustenbron. There are plenty of great beaches around here you can go ashore on and spend the night, or stay at Hotell Höga Kusten or Björkuddens Hotell if you’d rather sleep in a comfortable bed. Otherwise continue on downstream and cross the river soon after the bridge to finish at Åbordsviken, which is also a good place to camp.

Day 3
Åbordsön-Härnösand 19 km

Your last day is spent paddling down towards Härnösand, passing among other things the sawmill in Rö where you can enjoy a coffee, have a meal or even stay the night if you wish. After you pass Sannasundet you will see the city of Härnösand where you can slowly glide into the canal and Nattviken in central Härnösand where the trip finishes.

This is just a suggestion for a kayak trip downstream the Ångerman river. You can rent kayaks from Sollefteå Camping but they can't offer pickup or transport from Härnösand back to Sollefteå.
