Description

  • Take the car to Barsta.

  • Hike the World Heritage Trail stage 8 north over Barstaberget to the road that goes towards Näsviken. Take the road to the left and hike along the road to the four-way junction in Näsänget.

  • Take a right and hike along the nice road up to Älgsjösjön and Älgsjö. There connect to the World Heritage Trail stage 7 and go east towards Bönhamn. Make the small detour up Älgsjöberget if you want.

  • In Bönhamn, you step aboard the High Coast Boats and go out to Högbonden. For the current timetable, check the High Coast Boats' website.

  • The boat docks for about 15 minutes and then continues on to Barsta. Depending on which boat you take, you may have time to go for a walk on the island or have a coffee at the café at the top of the island. You can also spend the night at the hostel. The boat departs from Högbonden. For the current timetable, check the High Coast Boats' website.

If you don't want to take the boat out to Högbonden, it is possible to hike the World Heritage Trail between Bönhamn and Barsta.
