Description
The summer pasture that lies along the trail was used during the 1700s and well into the 1900s by the local farmers. Signs tell about places and events in the area. Some stories are fairy tales and others have a reality background.
From the main road in Norrmoflo through the forest – the so-called Fäbostigen – the distance is about seven kilometers. Good hiking shoes and a water bottle are recommended. The total ascent is almost 300 meters.
At the final destination Moflobodarna, there is a rest cabin, campfire site and toilet. You can also get there by car if you want a pick-up, for example.
Take the opportunity to visit Nämforsen and Nämforsen's Rock Carving Museum. Behind the museum building is Näsåker Outdoor Gym with incredible views of the roaring rapids and the Ångerman River, which slowly winds its way past through the ice age chiselled valley.
