Description
Right next door, below the clearing Gökgärdet and about 28 km from central Härnösand, is the lovely, soft and shallow sandy beach Sågsand, an Eldorado for sun worshippers and perfect for families with children. If you prefer to be left alone, there are beautiful cliffs in the north.

At Prästhushamn there were at most 16 boathouses, as many cookhouses and a few smaller barns for the cattle that the crofters brought with them when they moved down to the harbour in the spring to fish. At that time, a harbour master was also elected, there was a harbour meeting, tarred boats and coloured gear for salmon and herring fishing.

During the 1850s and 60s, there was also a shipyard here. In the bay itself, called Utanöviken, there used to be a fishing village. Two house foundations have been found here with fireplace cairns, three shed foundations and several gristgård cairns.
