Description
Sweden's largest tunnel cave can be found a little north of Örnsköldsvik. The cave is 34 m long and almost 7.5 m high. Several services have taken place in the cave and in the area it is called Räckebergskyrkan. The cave itself was created when the sea once crashed against the rock and the water with stones that dug out of the stone. The High Coast's mighty land uplift has today lifted the entire cave above the sea and made it available for visits.
If you look a little below the edge of the mountain, you will find the old beach zone together with other material that has been brought there by the sea. In the area there are also more tunnel caves, giant cauldrons and bedrock stacks.
How to get here: The easiest way is to drive to Torsböle village and continue the road until it ends. There are parking facilities here. Then follow Arnäsleden to Räckebergsgrottan. It is about 2 km hiking from the car park.
