Rutberget
Rutberget has a varied terrain and its highest point is 342 meters above sea level. The snow often falls already in early November and remains until mid-May. No wonder Rutbergsterrängen is a popular area for skiing!
- Free parking
Road description : You can get to Rutberget via a number of starting points. In Fälltjärn there is one of them with parking and a trail map. You can get here via road 352 between Örnsköldsvik and Björna. In Västansjö at Bygdegården and from Backsjö you can get to the area via Huggsjöstugan. Västeralnö summer pastures are also a suitable starting point. You can get there via road signs from Backe after Gottnevägen. The area can also be reached by ski tracks from Själevad and from Hantverkaregatan in central Örnsköldsvik if there is good snow availability.
The destination for many is the famous rest cabin Rutbergshotellet, an open rest cabin. There you gather to have coffee with your packed bag, before you go further into the terrain.
To get here, park at Fjälltjärn and then ski off up the mountain.
Another popular excursion destination is Huggsjöstugan. The cottage consists of two parts where some are always open. During parts of the spring winter there is serving on weekends, usually it is semlor. There is ploughed parking from Backsjö. See the opening hours for the service on the website.
The ski trails are managed in collaboration with Nävertjäls Bygdegårdsförening.
