Road description : Övra Chapel is about 1h and 45 minutes drive north of Sollefteå. Follow highway 90 from Sollefteå further past Näsåker and Junsele. Continue on road 90 through Junsele, and when you reach "Hålla", turn left. Drive that way about 550 meters before you arrive!
Description
The church is located in Övra in Sollefteå municipality. Övra chapel was built at the same time as the village school in Övra village in 1894, by the forestry company Kramfors AB. The bell tower was erected in 1898. For a time during the first decades of the 1900s, the school was used as a church hall, but when the school was closed down in 1944, Övra chapel was reopened.
On October 14, 2016, the building was named "Ångermanland's most beautiful house" by the newspaper Allehanda.
