The grave is 30 meters in diameter and 4.5 meters high. Old legends says that big man Gudmundshögen is buried here. He may have given the name to the parish Gudmundrå. There are also several smaller burial mounds in the area. Gudmundshögen has never been excavated and archaeologically investigated.
