Where the city and nature meet

Örnsköldsvik is the largest town in the province of Ångermanland. Its most dramatic growth period was during the timber era in the 1800s, when harbour towns grew increasingly important. A strong air of entrepreneurship and focus on development can still be felt in the town. Nature experiences are close at hand and the town with its hotels, hostels and shops is a popular point of departure for hiking along the High Coast Trail. The mountains Åsberget and Varvsberget are close to town and offer both challenging hiking and beautiful views of the city.

The guest marina has 90 berths and is close to everything. The museum and art gallery are centrally located, as is one of Sweden's largest adventure swimming pool facilities that is suitably named Paradiset. The local cuisine includes everything from fermented Baltic herring to restaurants listed in the White Guide and the selection of restaurants on the waterfront seems to be constantly increasing. Lovely days spent dining in the sun are waiting for you here in Örnsköldsvik.

There are several golden beaches suitable for swimming close by – Gullvik has a restaurant, holiday park and a large jetty that you can pull up to. You can experience the entire Örnsköldsvik region by boat and the archipelago offers saunas, outings and good times in places such as Fjälludden and Vågön.
